Josh Blessing is a graduate of Ball State University and current Digital Media Producer for the University of Minnesota Athletic Department. Blessing is executive producer of "Raise the Barn," a behind-the-scenes web series that features Gopher basketball. His work with Gopher Digital Productions includes producing Olympic sports intro videos and in-game editing during Gopher football home games. Assists in production of "Brick by Brick." He also produces video content for "The Journey" Big Ten Basketball.



Blessing's professional experience includes cross-platform sports production, while also producing international features for the 2012 London Olympic Games. Over five months, he hosted or produced 12 feature stories on Team USA boxers, swimmers, divers and more. He also conducted, shot and edited over 100 interviews at the Team USA Media Summit.

 

While in London, Blessing co-hosted the "BSU at the Games: Olympic Special" from Trafalgar Square. The show aired nationally on Fox College Sports. In addition, one of his Olympic stories -- on two-time Olympian Eric Shanteau -- was published by The Huffington Post.

As a member of Ball State Sports Link, the nation's first fully-immersive sports production program, Blessing has shot, edited, produced, scripted and voiced numerous features. Coaching from Above, his feature on Ball State quarterback Keith Wenning, was nominated by the Sports Video Group/College Media Awards for best special feature and submitted for a Regional Emmy Award. 

Blessing co-hosted Sports Link's Emmy-winning Be a Fan show airing locally on WIPB-TV, regionally on Comcast Indiana and nationally on Fox College Sports. The show was named the best video magazine in 2013 by the Indiana Association of School Broadcasters.

In addition to his feature productions and studio work, Blessing has worked audio, graphics, camera, EVS and served as producer and analyst for numerous live sports productions covering basketball, softball, volleyball, soccer and swimming.



Blessing expanded his production range as a Social Media Video Producer for Turner Sports' nationally-distributed NCAA March Madness Live on Broadband, iPhone, iPad and Android digital products -- selecting and editing live game highlights from the First Four to the Final Four.



Through internships at Indiana television stations WXIN (FOX), Indianapolis and WSBT (CBS), South Bend, Blessing shot and edited on-air content covering the NFL, NBA, WNBA, MLB, PGA, IndyCar and Motorcross.

His freelance work includes ESPN, WebStream Productions, Fox Sports Indiana, SportsTime Ohio and WISH TV in Indianapolis.
